3 ways to create rapport with your list

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Creating rapport with your list is the most essential aspect of building credibility and also your chance to eventually build a list of loyal followers and buyers. See, people by from people they like. You could have the best product in the world, but if you do not take necessary steps to ‘warm’ your list or even assist them to feel important, you won’t be making many sales at all. Here are 3 ways in which you can build rapport very easily and quickly with your list of prospective clients, or even new clients.

1. Let them know you care about them by asking for their opinions or feedback on a matter.

People love to be asked what they think and what is casing them some pain at the moment. It allows them to let off some excess steam, and you get to develop a deep relationship with a prospect. You are allowing them to be heard, and you in turn care about their opinion. It’s not hard to do this online; it’s actually quite simple. You can email your prospects and ‘ask’ them for their opinion on a matter, create a blog post about your question. Better still, you can make light of your topic via social media outlets like facebook and twitter. This will allow them to write what they feel and what they think.

2. Offer them FREE valuable information share what you know

Everyone loves valuable information, FREE information and anything that has to do with their interests or hobbies.  You also get to show your list that you are the leader in your market, and that you are paying attention to what they enjoy. Assisting them with a problem is also a great way to create rapport. This can be done through a free report, a one-on-one consultation or even a webinar. Show them you care by giving, giving and giving as much as you can for free. This means that prospects feel valued, and then in turn think ‘if this person is giving so much stuff away for free, I wonder how many valuable things I get when I become part of their program/membership etc.” Always give more than what your list expects, and you will receive abundance in return.

3. Go that extra mile above your competitors

If you go even that little extra mile, show your clients attention, respond to their emails in a timely manner, you will be known as the person who is awesome at your job. The person that people can come to for assistance in your niche and you will be talked about. News travels fast, and there is no better credibility than the news others share about you. Always be on top of your game. Do what is necessary to be the leader in your niche, even if that means more education, more workshops/seminars – do it! It’s will be worth ten fold when you pitch a proposal to a client and they have head about your work/reputation from someone else. Who do you think is going to get the job?

These 3 small steps will set you on a great path towards creating not only a better online business, but also some essential practices that unfortunately, some business do not adhere to. It really is those little things that matter to people the most  – and if numerous people are not doing them, how good are you going to look?

To your success
